Why women managers shine in a downturnResearch has pointed out that the more women there were in a company management, the less the share price fell in 2008. Stocks of companies with mainly male management have decreased more than the overall exchange index itself.
This is further justified that in conditions of high uncertainity, companies that take fewer risks are more stable. This match the innate characteristics of a woman managerial style - whom tends to be more risk-adverse and focus more on long term perspective. Research has also shown that women managers do not harm a company's business performance.
I can't help to wonder whether the researcher behind this research is a woman as well...
